US-Iran conflict: Etihad Airways resumes some operations, commercial flights still halted

DUBAI: Etihad Airways has resumed limited flight operations, while commercial services remain suspended due to ongoing disruptions caused by the escalating Iran conflict.

The Abu Dhabi-based carrier confirmed that select flights, including repositioning, cargo, and repatriation services, are operating in coordination with UAE authorities and under strict safety approvals. However, all scheduled commercial flights to and from Abu Dhabi continue to be cancelled.

The disruption follows recent military escalations involving Iran, Israel, and the United States, which have led to widespread airspace closures across parts of the Middle East, including the UAE, and major aviation hubs such as Dubai and Doha.

Despite the restrictions, flight data indicate that several aircraft departed from Zayed International Airport on Monday, bound for destinations including London, Paris, Moscow, and Amsterdam. Additional flights to cities such as Jeddah and Kochi are also scheduled.

The airline has not disclosed details regarding which specific flights are designated for the repatriation of stranded passengers.

Earlier, Etihad had announced via its travel advisory that all flights to and from Abu Dhabi would remain suspended until 10:00 GMT on Tuesday.
