TEHRAN: Iran’s top negotiator and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf held a meeting with Pakistan’s army chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Saturday in Tehran.

According to Iranian media, Qalibaf said that Tehran would not compromise on the rights of its nation. He also claimed that Iran’s armed forces had rebuilt their capabilities during a ceasefire period, warning that if the United States “foolishly restarts the war,” the consequences would be “more crushing and bitter.”

Field Marshal Asim Munir held a series of high-level meetings in Tehran as Islamabad stepped up diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing regional tensions and promoting dialogue.

During his visit, he also met Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

The discussions focused on regional peace, stability, and efforts to de-escalate tensions linked to US-Israeli military actions, according to officials cited by Iranian state media.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has now departed Iran after holding important meetings with senior Iranian leadership, Reuters reports.
