US-Israel strikes on Iran: satellite photos released showing destruction on missile bases
Satellite imagery released by Colorado-based satellite analysis company Vantor indicates extensive damage to several Iranian military facilities following a new wave of airstrikes across the country.
The images, taken before and after the strikes, show heavily damaged buildings and infrastructure at sites in Khorgu and Kerman. At an airbase near Isfahan, analysts identified multiple destroyed aircraft as well that appeared intact in satellite photos captured prior to the attack.
The strikes came as the United States and Israel launched what officials described as one of the most intense bombardments since the war began. According to the United States Department of Defense and reports from residents in Iran, Tuesday’s assault marked the heaviest round of airstrikes so far in the conflict.
The war, which erupted after escalating regional tensions and a series of missile exchanges between Iran and Israel earlier this year, has increasingly drawn in the United States as Washington backs Israeli military operations against Iranian missile infrastructure and military bases. The campaign has focused on degrading Iran’s ability to launch long-range strikes and limiting the operations of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Despite the intensifying attacks, financial markets have been betting that US President Donald Trump may ultimately push for a diplomatic effort to wind down the fighting, reflecting concerns that a prolonged conflict could disrupt global energy supplies and destabilize the wider Middle East.
Those fears were heightened when Iran’s Revolutionary Guards warned they could block oil shipments moving through the Persian Gulf if US and Israeli strikes continue. Any disruption in the vital shipping routes used to transport crude from Gulf producers could have major consequences for the global economy, as the region accounts for a significant share of the world’s oil exports.
