‘US prepping ground invasion amid negotiations talk,’ alleges Iranian Parliamentary Speaker

US-Iran war

Amid rising tensions in the Middle East, Iranian Parliamentary Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf has sharply criticized US actions, accusing Washington of hypocrisy in its stance on negotiations while secretly planning a ground invasion. In a series of statements, Qalibaf expressed concerns over contradictions within US policies, especially as they relate to the ongoing conflict in the region.

“The US talks about negotiations, but behind the scenes, it is planning a ground invasion,” Qalibaf stated, emphasizing Iran’s readiness to respond decisively if such an invasion were to occur. He also reaffirmed that Iranian forces are prepared for any escalation, with missiles fully primed in anticipation of potential US military involvement.

In addition to condemning US actions, Qalibaf issued a warning to US allies in the region, asserting that Iran is prepared to take punitive measures if necessary. “We are ready to punish US allies,” he remarked, underscoring the seriousness of Iran’s military preparedness.

The situation has reached a critical juncture, with Qalibaf noting that Hezbollah, a key ally of Iran, plays a dynamic role in the conflict. Meanwhile, the Yemeni Houthis, another regional player, are reportedly preparing to deliver a “big surprise” to Israel, further complicating the regional dynamics.

Meanwhile, Iran’s government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani also weighed in on the conflict, stating that while Iran did not initiate the war, it has suffered significant losses in both human lives and infrastructure.

She stressed that any future negotiations should address compensation for these damages, adding that Iran remains committed to pursuing lasting peace. However, Mohajerani clarified that the ultimate decision on war or peace rests with the Supreme Leader of Iran.
