WEB DESK: Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, responded to media queries about the passage of House Resolution 901 by the US House of Representatives regarding Pakistan’s general elections, stating that it “stems from an incomplete understanding of the political situation and electoral process in Pakistan.”
“Pakistan, as the world’s second-largest parliamentary democracy and fifth-largest democracy overall, is committed to the values of constitutionalism, human rights and rule of law in pursuance of our own national interest,” added Zahra.
She added that Pakistan values constructive dialogue and engagement grounded in mutual respect and understanding. Therefore, such resolutions are neither constructive nor objective.
