WASHINGTON: The United States (US) Department of State Spokesperson Matthew Miller stated that the US fully “supports” Pakistan’s economic efforts on Thursday.

During a recent press briefing in Washington, Miller reiterated the United States’ “unwavering” support for Pakistan’s economic success. The spokesperson stated that the US supports Pakistan’s bid for a loan from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

He also stated that the US “supports developments that are good for Pakistan’s economy”. Miller said that the US has “urged” the Pakistani government to solve its economic problems.

On the topic of bilateral relations between the two countries, Miller stated that “technical issues” with Pakistan will continue. However, he was quick to state that trade and investment relations with Pakistan will also continue.

The spokesperson declared that “these priorities” remained central to bilateral relations between Pakistan and the United States.
