The United States posted a competitive total of 199 for four in their 20 overs against Namibia in the T20 World Cup group-stage clash, powered by a captain’s knock from Monank Patel.
Leading from the front, Monank struck a composed 52 off 30 deliveries, smashing three fours and as many sixes at a strike rate of 173.33. The skipper set the tone early, anchoring the innings and building crucial partnerships to put the hosts in control.
Shayan Jahangir provided brisk support with 22 off 18 balls, while Saiteja Mukkamalla added 17. The real acceleration, however, came from Sanjay Krishnamurthi, who played a blistering cameo of 68 off just 33 balls, hammering four boundaries and six sixes to shift the momentum decisively in USA’s favour.
Milind Kumar chipped in with a quickfire 28 from 20 deliveries as the Americans maintained the pressure through the middle and death overs. USA added seven runs in extras to finish just one short of the 200-run mark.

Namibia’s bowlers struggled to contain the flow of runs, with JJ Smit and Bernard Erasmus among the wicket-takers but unable to prevent the late surge.
Chasing 200 for victory, Namibia face an uphill task against a confident USA side that has already stamped its authority with the bat.
