Usman Dar’s mother challenges Khawaja Asif in politics

ISLAMABAD: Following Usman Dar’s announcement to quit the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and politics, his mother has announced to play an active politics by mainly challenging at Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s leader Khawaja Asif in Sialkot.

In a video message, she said: “Khawaja Asif, listen carefully to what I have to say. You have forced Usman Dar to quit politics at gunpoint for your own political agenda. Usman Dar has left politics, but not me,” she said challenging Asif to face her in the political arena.

She said: “My challenge to you is to step into the arena and witness the consequences of your actions.”

Her statement comes a few hours after Usman Dar announced his departure from both politics and the PTI.

Earlier, Usman Dar, a prominent member of the PTI claimed that the planning for the events that led to the May 9 incidents was orchestrated under the leadership of the PTI chairman at his Zaman Park residence.

Talking to Dunya News, Dar alleged that the PTI chairman himself issued directives to target sensitive installations.

Dar alleged that PTI members like Hamad Azhar, Murad Saeed, Azam Swati, and Farrukh Habib were anti-military. They were also close to the PTI chairman, who directed the policy of confronting the military.

He said that a decision was taken that sensitive installations would be targeted in case the PTI chairman was arrested.

Dar stated the PTI’s long march in October 2022 aimed at stopping the appointment of Gen Asim Munir as the army chief and exert pressure on the army to remove him.
