Usman Khan ruled out of second ODI against New Zealand

LAHORE: Pakistan batter Usman Khan has been ruled out of the second one-day international (ODI) against New Zealand. 

According to the Pakistan team spokesperson, Usman sustained a hamstring injury while fielding during the first ODI. 

The spokesperson said that an MRI scan confirmed a low-grade tear, ruling him out of the second ODI in Hamilton on April 2. 

Bangladesh Confirms No ODIs in Pakistan Tour 

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has confirmed that its team will not play ODIs during their tour of Pakistan. 

A BCB official said that the series, part of the Future Tours Programme (FTP), will only consist of T20 matches, with no ODIs included.

The decision was made to focus on preparations for the T20 Asia Cup and T20 World Cup. 

Previously, Bangladesh’s tour of Pakistan was scheduled to feature three ODIs and three T20s. However, the series will now consist of five T20Is instead. 

Bangladesh is scheduled to tour Pakistan in May, while Pakistan will visit Bangladesh in July for a three-match T20 series. 

This additional series was agreed upon by officials from both cricket boards during a meeting at the Champions Trophy.  The Pakistan-Bangladesh T20 matches will take place from July 20 to July 24.
