Uzma Khanum granted permission to meet Imran Khan

Govt moves to curb PTI’s aggressive conduct in Parliament

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former Prime Minsiter Imran Khan’s sister Dr Uzma Khanum has been granted permission to meet the party leader in Aadiala jail today (Tuesday).

According to sources, Dr Uzma Khanum is expected to depart shortly from Factory Naka for Gate No5.

The meeting with Imran Khan, taking place after more than a month, has been officially designated as a special meeting day at Adiala Jail for the PTI founder.

It is worth noting that PTI had announced a protest outside Adiala Jail last week.

During a meeting of party workers, Sohail Afridi said that they would again attempt to meet Imran Khan on Tuesday. He warned that if they were denied permission once more, the party would announce its next course of action.

He had also directed workers from every district, village, and union council to gather at Adiala Jail on Tuesday.

PTI’s protest

Opposition Leader in the Punjab Assembly Moin Riaz Qureshi on Tuesday said that all Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) members of the Punjab Assembly have arrived in Islamabad to participate in a peaceful protest. Speaking informally to reporters, he said the lawmakers would gather outside the Islamabad High Court (IHC) shortly to register their protest.

Qureshi added that by 2pm, all PTI MPAs would move to Adiala Jail, where they plan to continue their peaceful demonstration. He said the protest outside the prison would continue until they are allowed to meet the PTI founder.

PTI leader Meena Khan also reached the IHC to join the protest. As crowds began to gather, the entrance gates of the high court were closed by authorities, restricting access to the premises.
