JEDDAH/ISLAMABAD: A physical altercation between two Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) air hostesses at Jeddah airport has gone viral, prompting swift action from the national carrier.
Both employees have been suspended pending an inquiry, as the airline reiterates its commitment to professional conduct. The incident reportedly took place in the international departure lounge at Jeddah airport on December 23, ahead of a PIA flight to Multan. According to sources, the dispute began with a heated exchange of words but quickly escalated into a physical scuffle.
A PIA officer at the scene intervened promptly, preventing the matter from escalating further. Despite the quick intervention, the video of the incident spread widely on social media, drawing public attention and raising questions about workplace discipline.
A PIA spokesperson confirmed the incident, adding that the airline takes matters of discipline and professional behavior very seriously. “Both air hostesses have been suspended, and an inquiry has been initiated. Action will be taken against those responsible in accordance with company regulations,” the spokesperson added.
