VADODARA, India: Indian cricket star Virat Kohli met a young fan who bears an uncanny resemblance to him, sparking a wave of social media attention. The child, affectionately dubbed “Little Cheeku” by fans, captured hearts with his innocent features and striking similarity to the star cricketer.
The encounter took place ahead of India’s one-day international against New Zealand in Vadodara. A photograph showing Kohli standing alongside the child quickly went viral, drawing widespread admiration online.
The boy, identified as Gravit Utam from Panchkula in Haryana, described the moment in a recent interview. He said he had been cheering loudly from the stands, chanting “Virat, Virat,” when Kohli noticed him, smiled, and called him “Little Cheeku.” Kohli then gestured to the child, saying “I’m coming,” before approaching him a few moments later.
Gravit added that Kohli invited Indian team captain Rohit Sharma to join the moment, jokingly pointing to the child and saying, “Look, here sits my duplicate.” Spectators at the venue were reportedly delighted by the heartwarming interaction.
Kohli, who is nicknamed “Cheeku” since childhood, shared the same moniker with the young fan. In a video shared on Instagram, Gravit said he also plays cricket, idolizes Kohli, and bats right-handed like his hero.
While Kohli’s lookalikes have frequently drawn attention on social media, this young fan’s charm and the memorable meeting have made him especially popular among cricket enthusiasts.
