WEB DESK: On Thursday and first day of fasting, much of Pakistan will experience dry weather, with chilly conditions lingering in several regions during the early morning and nighttime hours, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said.
Going region by region, in the federal capital, Islamabad, and its surrounding areas, the weather is expected to remain dry throughout the day. However, residents observing the first sehri and iftar of Ramadan will feel a noticeable chill in the air during the morning and late evening hours.
Across Punjab, dry conditions are forecast for most districts. The province will experience cold weather in the morning and at night, particularly in the upper regions. Light fog is also likely to develop in northeastern districts during the early hours, potentially affecting visibility for commuters.
In hill stations such as Murree and the scenic Galiyat region, the weather will remain dry but cold, especially during the morning and nighttime periods.
In Sindh, dry weather is expected to prevail across most districts. Temperatures are likely to remain relatively stable compared to northern parts of the country, providing calmer conditions for those beginning their Ramadan observances.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will also see predominantly dry weather. However, upper areas of the province are expected to experience cold conditions during the morning and night, adding a wintry touch to the start of the holy month.
In Balochistan, most districts will remain dry on Thursday. Northern parts of the province, however, are likely to face colder temperatures during the early and late hours of the day.
In Kashmir, the weather is expected to be cold and dry overall, with severe thunderstorms forecast during the morning and nighttime hours. Similarly, Gilgit-Baltistan will experience cold and dry conditions, with the possibility of severe thunderstorms in the early and late parts of the day.
As families gather for the first Ramadan prayers and meals, the predominantly dry weather across the country is likely to support smooth travel and outdoor activities, despite the lingering chill in several northern and upper regions.
