- Cold, dry spell with widespread fog continues across Pakistan
WEB DESK: In a recent update from the Meteorological Department, the prevailing weather conditions across Pakistan indicate a persistent cold and dry spell in most parts of the country.
North Balochistan is experiencing an intensified cold, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), while widespread fog blankets the plains of Punjab and some areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Additionally, there is a likelihood of fog in the Pothohar region and upper Sindh during the night.
Pakistan welcomes New Year with simplicity
The capital city, Islamabad, is set to maintain its cold and dry climate, with the cold intensity persisting in Murree, Galiat, and surrounding areas.
In Punjab, the foggy conditions extend to Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, Okara, Kasur, Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, Jhelum, Mangala, Faisalabad, Jhang, Sargodha, Mandi Bahauddin, Toba Tek Singh, Khanewal, Multan, Khanpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Hafizabad, Bhakkar, Leh, Dera Ghazai Khan, Jacobabad, Mohenjodaro, Sukkur, Larkana, Dadu, Ghotki, Padaidan, Charsadda, Mardan, Nowshera, Swabi, Peshawar, Dera Ismail Khan, and its surrounding areas.
Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir will also witness very cold and dry weather conditions.
The met department advises citizens to stay updated on weather forecasts and take appropriate measures to navigate the challenging weather conditions. Drive safely and use caution in areas affected by dense fog to ensure a safe start to the new year.
