Weather update: more rain and snowfall expected across Pakistan


Heavy rainfall expected

WEB DESK: As the weekend approaches, Pakistan braces itself for another bout of unpredictable weather conditions. Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reports indicate a high likelihood of rain and snowfall, particularly over the mountainous regions today (Saturday).

Landslides warning issued in KP, GB and northern Punjab

Residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir are advised to prepare for wet and cold conditions as the forecast predicts snowfall over the mountain ranges. Central and Upper Punjab, Islamabad, and North Balochistan are also expected to experience rain and snowfall, accompanied by intermittent wind and thunderstorms.

Adding to the mix, some areas may witness hailstorms. The prospect of heavy rainfall looms over Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir. In the southern regions of the country, gusty winds and stormy conditions are anticipated.

Gas supply suspended across Balochistan, service to resume by 1 pm

Authorities urge citizens to stay informed about weather updates and advisories, exercise caution while commuting, and take necessary precautions to mitigate any adverse effects of the impending weather conditions. While the intensity of heat is likely to subside today, citizens are advised to continue to focus on staying hydrated during sehri and iftari times in Ramazan.
