Weather updates: Met department forecasts drop in temperatures

KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted a rise in cold weather in Karachi from December 8.

According to the Met Office, cold winds blowing from December 8 are likely to increase the chill in the city. A western weather system affecting the northern areas and Balochistan is expected to lower temperatures in Karachi, making the weather colder.

The Chief Meteorologist Karachi said the cold wave in Balochistan due to the western system may also impact Karachi, as winds from northeastern Balochistan could intensify the chill.

He added that there is no indication of an extreme cold wave in Karachi until mid-December. However, the minimum temperature is expected to remain between 12°C and 14°C, while the maximum may range between 27°C and 29°C.

The Chief Meteorologist further said that due to the western weather system, there is currently no forecast of rainfall in Karachi.
