LAHORE: A wedding card attributed to Junaid Safdar, the son of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and grandson of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, has gone viral on social media, sparking widespread discussion about his upcoming second marriage.

According to details mentioned on the circulating card, Junaid Safdar is set to marry Shanzae Ali Roheel, granddaughter of senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and former Member of the National Assembly Sheikh Roheel Asghar. The viral card outlines a series of wedding events scheduled for mid-January 2026.

Social media posts claim that the wedding celebrations will begin on January 16, with the baraat planned for January 17 at Lake City. The walima ceremony is reportedly scheduled for January 18 at 1:00 PM at Sharif Farms, Jati Umra. However, the Sharif family has not issued any official confirmation regarding the authenticity of the card or the reported dates.

Images of another invitation card, from the bride’s family, are also circulating on social media:

Last month, Sheikh Roheel Asghar publicly confirmed Junaid Safdar’s second marriage, providing background on how the two families are connected. He stated that his granddaughter Shanzae shares a close friendship with Junaid Safdar’s sister, Mahnoor Safdar, and that both families have longstanding ties.

He added that Shanzae often met Maryam Nawaz, noting that the proposal might have been initiated by the Punjab chief minister herself. Sheikh Roheel Asghar described the match as a blessing and said the family welcomed the proposal.

Junaid Safdar was previously married to Ayesha Saif in 2021. The marriage ended in separation in October 2023.
