WEB DESK: Most parts of the country are expected to remain dry on Wednesday, according to the latest weather forecast by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). However, temperatures will continue to dip across the hilly regions, particularly during the morning and night hours. PMD also warns of persistent smog and patches of light fog in parts of Punjab, which may affect visibility for early-morning commuters.
Going region by region, the PMD said that in Islamabad and surrounding areas, the weather is forecast to stay dry throughout the day. However, residents should prepare for noticeably colder conditions at dawn and after sunset.
Across Punjab, dry weather will dominate most districts. Murree, Galiyat and adjoining high-altitude areas are likely to feel the chill more sharply, with colder winds setting in early and lasting into the night. Smog continues to blanket the plains of the province, while light fog may develop in isolated spots during the late-night and early-morning hours.
In Sindh, conditions are expected to remain dry in nearly all districts, with no major weather disturbances anticipated.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region will also see mostly dry weather. Hilly areas, however, are expected to experience colder conditions, particularly before sunrise and after sunset.
In Balochistan, dry weather is likely to prevail province-wide, though northern districts will face a noticeable drop in temperatures.
Both Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are forecast to remain dry and cold, with very cold temperatures anticipated during the morning and night hours. Residents in these areas are urged to take precautions against the harsh conditions, especially in higher elevations.
Overall, the mid-week forecast paints a picture of calm, dry weather across the country, accompanied by increasing cold in northern and high-altitude regions, and lingering smog concerns in the plains.
