WEB DESK: Most parts of the country are expected to experience dry weather on Sunday, with daytime temperatures likely to remain above normal levels. However, residents in northern areas should brace for cold conditions during the morning and night hours, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said.
Going region by region, PMD predicts that in Islamabad and surrounding areas, dry weather is forecast throughout the day, though mornings and nights will remain chilly.
Across Punjab, dry conditions are expected in most districts. Light to moderate fog may develop in northeastern areas during the morning hours. In hill stations including Murree and the Galiyat region, the weather will remain dry but cold in the early and late hours of the day.
Central and southern districts of the province are likely to experience above-normal daytime temperatures.
Meanwhile, Lahore continues to battle hazardous air pollution levels. The city has topped the list of the world’s most polluted cities, with the overall Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 394. The worsening air quality has raised serious health concerns for residents, especially children, the elderly, and those with respiratory conditions.
In Sindh, dry weather is expected across most districts. However, strong winds are likely to blow during the afternoon hours, potentially providing slight relief in some areas.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, dry weather will prevail in most districts. Upper areas are likely to remain cold during the morning and night, while daytime temperatures are expected to stay above normal.
Most districts of Balochistan will experience dry conditions. Northern parts of the province are expected to remain cold during morning and evening hours.
Weather in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan is forecast to remain cold and dry, with extreme cold expected in some areas during the morning and night. Despite the chill, daytime temperatures are anticipated to be above normal.
Authorities have advised citizens to take precautionary measures against cold conditions in northern regions and to limit outdoor activities in areas experiencing hazardous air pollution, particularly in Lahore.
