When will supermoon be visible in Pakistan?

Supermoon December 2025

WEB DESK: The Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) has announced that the final supermoon of 2025 will be visible tonight, marking the year’s third and last such lunar event.

According to Suparco, the supermoon will first become visible in Pakistan at 4:58am. The phenomenon is expected to reach its peak brightness and size early tomorrow morning at 4:15am, offering skywatchers an opportunity to witness one of the year’s most striking celestial sights.

Suparco has encouraged the public to observe the event, noting that clear skies will provide the best viewing conditions.

Known as the December “cold moon,” it will appear noticeably larger and brighter than a typical full moon due to its close approach to Earth, shining nearly 8 per cent bigger and 15 per cent brighter.

Although slightly less dramatic than November’s supermoon, it will still hover at a strikingly close 357,218km from Earth, bathing the night sky in silver light visible without any equipment.

December also brings other notable celestial events. On December 7, the Moon and Jupiter will appear unusually close in a rare conjunction visible to the naked eye. Later, on December 19, interstellar comet 3I/ATLAS will make its closest approach to Earth, observable through larger telescopes.
