Whitney Leavitt has addressed the growing controversy surrounding her co-star Taylor Frankie Paul, as the fallout from the domestic violence allegations continues to intensify.
The The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star said she is still processing the situation, but made clear that the safety of those involved, especially children, must come first.
“I have a lot of emotions about it,” she said, adding that she does not want the alleged behaviour to be tolerated or overlooked.
Her comments come as scrutiny around Paul deepens following the resurfacing of a 2023 video that allegedly shows her attacking ex-partner Dakota Mortensen with a chair while a child was present.
The controversy has quickly spiralled beyond the show itself.
Paul’s planned season of The Bachelorette was abruptly cancelled, while filming on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wiveswas halted after cast members raised concerns about safety, reputational damage and the future of the series.
Behind the scenes, tensions had reportedly been building even before the video surfaced, with cast members said to have raised concerns to network executives about continuing with Paul.
The situation has been further complicated by ongoing legal developments.
Authorities in Utah are currently investigating a third alleged domestic violence incident involving Paul and Mortensen, linked to footage believed to have been recorded in 2024. Police say the investigation remains ongoing and no charges have been filed at this stage.
The latest probe adds to mounting legal pressure on the reality star, whose public image has come under increasing scrutiny as new details continue to emerge.
Leavitt’s response marks one of the clearest reactions from within the cast so far, stopping short of a direct defence while signalling concern over the seriousness of the allegations.
“It’s just so fresh,” she said.
As the scandal continues to unfold, uncertainty remains over the future of the show and Paul’s role in it, with both legal and professional consequences still playing out.
