Whitney Leavitt has confirmed she is stepping away from The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, making the announcement during a live Broadway performance before reiterating her decision in interviews.
The reality TV star revealed her exit while appearing in Chicago, where she recently played Roxie Hart, and later told The Hollywood Reporter she would not return to film the series.
Exit follows on-off involvement
Leavitt has been part of the show since its 2024 debut, though her participation has fluctuated. She previously stepped back after season two and only returned for season three after discussions about casting from the show for Dancing With the Stars.
In a confessional, she said she “needed a break” but remained connected to the MomTok group tied to the show. She later competed on the dance series, finishing sixth, before moving to Broadway.
During her stage run, she appeared alongside Mark Ballas, with the production drawing strong attention during their performances.
Show resumes amid controversy
Production on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has recently resumed following an investigation involving cast member Taylor Frankie Paul and her former partner Dakota Mortensen.
Reports said both individuals received protective orders, although further details have not been publicly confirmed.
What’s next
Leavitt’s departure comes as the show continues filming new episodes, with her exit marking a significant shift for one of its original cast members.
She now appears to be focusing on opportunities beyond reality television following her Broadway stint.
