The winner of Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans has officially been revealed, but for many viewers, the biggest talking point was not the final result itself.

After months of competition, returning player Aubry Bracco was crowned the winner of Survivor 50, taking home the $2 million prize after making it through the season’s dramatic final stretch.

Bracco secured the title over fellow finalists Jonathan Young and Joe Hunter, closing out the landmark 50th season of the long-running reality competition.

Yet even as the finale delivered a winner, social media quickly turned its attention to an awkward live television moment involving longtime host Jeff Probst.

During the live broadcast, Probst appeared to prematurely reveal that contestant Rizo Velovic had lost the fire-making challenge before the pre-recorded segment had aired, effectively spoiling who would miss out on the final three.

As confusion unfolded in the studio, contestants quickly stepped in to point out the mistake.

“The fire hasn’t happened yet,” several cast members could be heard telling Probst during the broadcast, prompting visible confusion from the host before the show briefly cut to a commercial break.

When the programme returned, Probst attempted to laugh off the error, joking that viewers had just received “a peek into the future” before the finale continued.

The moment quickly sparked reactions online, with some fans joking that one of the finale’s biggest reveals had been spoiled in real time.

The historic 50th season featured 24 returning contestants, with viewers helping shape parts of the game as the show celebrated one of its biggest milestones.

In the end, however, it was Bracco who walked away as Sole Survivor, even as Probst’s unexpected live blunder threatened to steal the spotlight.
