LAHORE: As the Pakistan national cricket team has shown a dismal performance in the ongoing World Cup matches, Pakistan Cricket Board Management Committee Chairman Zaka Ashraf has made a crucial statement about Babar Azam’s post-World Cup captaincy.
Speaking to a private TV channel, Zaka Ashraf addressed the question of removing Babar Azam from the captaincy and said that “there is no doubt that Babar Azam is a top-notch and star cricketer.” However, he added that after the World Cup, they will seek recommendations from experts on match results and they will then decide what is best for Pakistan cricket.

Answering another question, Zaka Ashraf expressed concern that while the World Cup was in progress, former cricketers have “opened up their own shops and continuously criticized players.”
“This continuous criticism is affecting the morale of the national cricketers,” he said, urging former players to maintain a positive attitude throughout the World Cup.
He said that the former cricketers should openly criticize and identify mistakes after the World Cup so that improvements could be made in the future.
