Imran Khan to seek permission to attend maternal uncle’s funeral

 ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) founder chairman Imran Khan is reportedly seeking permission to attend the funeral prayer of his maternal uncle, Javed Zaman Khan, who passed away at his Zaman Park residence on Sunday.

Javed Zaman, a fatherly figure in Imran Khan’s life, was a a mentor to the former cricketer and PM apart from being a close family member.

The news of Javed Zaman Khan’s demise was shared through Khan’s official X account, causing an outpour of condolences and support from the public.

The late Javed Zaman played a significant role in shaping Imran Khan’s cricketing career, making his passing even more poignant for the PTI leader.

Amidst the grieving period, Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, and cousin, Qasim Khan, have formally requested that the incarcerated Imran Khan be granted permission to attend the funeral of his maternal uncle.

Imran Khan, currently facing legal issues, is seeking a compassionate consideration to participate in the last rtes of his mentor and family member.

The PTI, in a proactive move, has announced its intention to launch a formal application with the caretaker government, urging them to grant permission for Imran Khan to attend the funeral.

The party is rallying support to ensure that the PTI chairman can bid a final farewell to his uncle, highlighting the emotional significance of the relationship between the two.
