Will Pakistani team travel to India? Bilawal-led committee takes decision

ISLAMABAD: The high-profile committee formed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif regarding Pakistan’s participation in the World Cup 2023 to be held in India has made a decision in this regard.
The meeting, chaired by Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, was also attended by Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb.
During the meeting, a comprehensive briefing was provided regarding Pakistan’s participation in the upcoming World Cup. Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee Zaka Ashraf, also shared his views on the matter.
Following discussions, the committee decided that a security delegation will travel to India in the third week of August to assess the security arrangements at the venues scheduled to host the event. Based on the security clearance received from the delegation’s assessment, a final decision will be made on Pakistan’s participation in the world cup.

Separately, The International Cricket Council (ICC) is considering rescheduling six matches of the tournament including two matches of Pakistan, for the upcoming World Cup.
According to Geo News, there is a discussion to advance the match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka from October 12 to October 10, and the match between Pakistan and India from October 15 to October 14.
Pakistan vs Sri Lanka contest on October 10 will be a day-night match.
