Will Shatrughan Sinha attend his daughter’s wedding?

MUMBAI/ISLAMABAD: Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha, who recently played the role of Fareedan in the web series ‘Heeramundi,’ is set to marry her boyfriend Zaheer Iqbal in a few days.

Following the announcement, rumours surfaced on social media claiming that her family disapproved of her decision and would not attend the wedding.

Reports in the Indian media also claimed that Sonakshi’s family did not attend her “bachelor’s party” earlier.

However, senior Bollywood actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha, Sonakshi’s father, has addressed these rumours, calling them rubbish.

In a recent interview with Indian TV Zoom, Shatrughan Sinha stated, “Tell me, whose life is this? This is the life of my only daughter Sonakshi, of whom I am very proud. She considers me her strength. I will definitely attend the wedding.”

Shatrughan Sinha confirmed his presence in Mumbai for the wedding, saying, “Sonakshi and Zaheer have to spend a life together, and they look great together.”

He also addressed those spreading false news on social media, using his famous dialogue, “Shut up (Khamosh), mind your own business.”

Shatrughan told Zoom, “Tell me, whose life is it anyway? It’s just the life of my only daughter Sonakshi, whom I am very proud of and immensely fond of. She calls me the pillar of her strength. I will be there at the wedding, certainly. Why shouldn’t I and why won’t I? Her happiness is my happiness and vice versa. She has every right to choose her partner and the other details of her wedding.”

It should be noted that Shatrughan Sinha had expressed surprise about the news of his daughter’s marriage a few days ago, stating that he had not spoken to anyone about it.

He remarked that today’s children do not seek their parents’ consent for marriage but merely inform them.

Sonakshi Sinha will tie the knot with her longtime boyfriend Zaheer Iqbal in Mumbai on June 23.
