WEB DESK: The Education Department of Punjab has announced extended winter vacations for students in Murree and Kotli Sattian. In a notification issued by the Chief Executive Officer of the District Education Authority Murree, schools and colleges in both areas will remain closed from December 22, 2025, to March 7, 2026. Classes will resume on Monday, March 9, 2026, as March 8 falls on a Sunday.
This extended break comes as part of the district’s annual winter schedule, designed to give students relief from the region’s harsh winter conditions.
Meanwhile, the Education Department of Punjab has also issued a notice for the rest of the province, announcing a winter break from December 22, 2025, to January 11, 2026. All public and private schools across the province will be closed until January 10, 2026. Schools will reopen on Monday, January 12.
In addition to the Punjab holidays, other provinces have also announced their winter vacation schedules.
In Balochistan, the Education Department has declared winter vacations for educational institutions in colder areas from December 16, 2025, to February 28, 2026. Schools in warmer areas of the province will remain closed from December 22, 2025, to January 4, 2026.
Meanwhile, the College Education Department of Sindh has declared a short winter break for colleges in the province, with institutions closed from December 22 to December 31, 2025.
These vacation schedules aim to provide students in cold regions with a much-needed break during the harsh winter months, while also ensuring the safety and comfort of both students and staff.
