ISLAMABAD: Women have achieved remarkable success in the competition organised by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) to design new currency notes.

The top five banknote designs that won first place—those for the 10, 100, 500, 1000, and 5000 rupee denominations—were all created by female designers. Meanwhile, the designs for the 20 and 50-rupee notes were crafted by male artists.

SPB is also preparing to introduce new banknotes made from polymer paper, with the transition expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
