LAHORE: Pakistani swimmers concluded their participation in the World Aquatics Championship 2025 with early exits in multiple events.
Ryan Deen competed in the 50m men’s freestyle, finishing 68th with a time of 23.87 seconds. But this result was not enough to qualify for the semi-finals.
This is despite the fact that a day earlier, he had placed 62nd in the 100m freestyle but clocked 51.65 seconds to set a new national record, breaking the previous mark of 53.34 seconds held by Haseeb Tariq.
In the women’s events, Hareem Malik competed in the 50m butterfly and completed the race in 33.20 seconds, ranking 76th overall. She did not advance to the next round either.
Earlier in the championship, Jahan Ara Nabi participated in the 200m and 400m freestyle events. She placed 42nd in the 200m and 29th in the 400m.
No Pakistani swimmer advanced to the semi-final stage in their respective events.
