Pakistan Champions is led by the experienced Younis Khan. The old-but-gold team paved their way to the final with a hard-fought 20-run win over West Indies Champions in Northampton.

After a shaky start that saw early wickets fall cheaply, Pakistan relied on a strong partnership between Kamran Akmal and Younis Khan to stabilise their innings. Akmal scored 46 off 31 balls while Khan netted 65 runs at a loss of 45 balls.

Their run-partnership anchored Pakistan Champions to a total of 198 runs for a loss of eight wickets.

The bowlers then defended this total effectively, with Wahab Riaz and Shoaib Malik among the wicket-takers. Pakistan Champions was able to effectively restrict West Indies to 178 all out.

In the other semi-final clash, India Champions delivered a strong performance against Australia Champions. Batting first, India amassed a score of 254 for a loss of six wickets.

Captained by the legendary Yuvraj Singh, the Indian batters blazed through to an explosive 254. Robin Uthappa scored 65 runs off 35 balls. The captain continued the onslaught with 59 off 28 balls.

Similalry, Yusuf Pathan netted a half-century (51 not out) off just 23 balls. The Indian batters aggressive batting display left Australia chasing a daunting target.

Despite some resistance from Tim Paine and Nathan Coulter-Nile, Australia fell short of the target. The Brett Lee-team managed to score only 168 runs in their allotted 20 overs.

India’s tournament journey was characterized by consistent performances in the knockout stages, securing wins against England and Australia. However, they faced setbacks against Pakistan and South Africa.

Meanwhile, Pakistan has shown a strong performance throughout the tournament, suffering only one defeat in the knockout stages. Their semi-final victory against West Indies hints at their ability to thrive under pressure and reliance on strong partnerships.
