The long-standing rivalry between WWE and All Elite Wrestling may dominate television storylines, but behind the scenes, the divide appears far less rigid. A recent training session brought together talent from both promotions, offering a rare glimpse into the camaraderie that exists beyond scripted feuds.
At the centre of the crossover was Natalya Neidhart, who hosted a session at her Calgary-based wrestling school, “The Dungeon.” Among those in attendance was former AEW world champion Swerve Strickland, whose presence alongside WWE names quickly caught fans’ attention online.
Photos shared from the session showed a mix of established stars and rising talent training together, reinforcing the idea that professional wrestling’s competitive boundaries often fade when it comes to skill development and mutual respect.
Training ground turns into crossover hub
“The Dungeon,” co-run by Natalya and her husband Tyson Kidd, has increasingly become a hub for wrestlers looking to sharpen their craft. The latest session featured several notable names, including Jacob Fatu, Montez Ford, Angelo Dawkins, and veteran Tatanka.
Strickland’s appearance stood out not only because of his AEW status but also due to reunions that took place during the session. He was seen reconnecting with B-Fab and Ashante Adonis, both of whom share past on-screen history with him. The gathering highlighted how personal and professional relationships often extend across promotions despite corporate competition.
Stars balance training with major storylines
While the meetup offered a relaxed, collaborative environment, many of the wrestlers involved are currently navigating high-profile storylines. Jacob Fatu is preparing for a major clash with Drew McIntyre at an upcoming WrestleMania, while Natalya is set to compete against Shayna Baszler in a Bloodsport bout.
Meanwhile, the tag team of Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins, collectively known as the Street Profits are expected to return to in-ring action soon. On the AEW side, Strickland is regrouping following a recent defeat to Kenny Omega and a shift in his on-screen persona, signalling a potentially more aggressive direction in upcoming appearances.
The training session ultimately served as a reminder that while wrestling promotions compete fiercely for audiences, the performers themselves often share a common space, one defined by discipline, collaboration and a shared passion for the craft.
