WEB DESK: Meta’s Threads has introduced a new feature, allowing users to delete their Threads profile without losing their Instagram account.

Meta’s launch of Threads in early July saw rapid adoption, with an impressive 100 million users signing up within just five days. However, early users soon discovered a limitation – once activated, Threads accounts could only be deleted by removing the entire Instagram account.

How can you delete your Threads account?

In response to user feedback, Adam Mosseri, Head of Instagram, has announced the removal of this restriction. Now, users looking to leave Threads can navigate to Settings > Account > Delete or Deactivate Profile. This streamlined process provides the option to either temporarily suspend the account or permanently delete it, all without affecting the associated Instagram account. This update reflects Meta’s commitment to enhancing user experience and flexibility within their platform.
