“You come in my dreams”, Wasim Akram tells Kohli

COLOMBO: Former Pakistani cricket star Wasim Akram recently disclosed a noteworthy conversation he had with Virat Kohli, discussing the Indian cricketer’s widespread popularity.

Akram made this revelation ahead of the India-Pakistan Super Four match in Colombo, Sri Lanka. As both teams prepared to take the field, Akram shared that he had dreamed about Indian cricketer Virat Kohli, and upon meeting him before the game, he paid Kohli a compliment.

Akram conveyed that he informed Kohli about his presence in his dreams, elaborating that Kohli’s ubiquitous media presence had etched him into his subconscious.

“Today, as I walked past him, I told Virat Kohli that you come in my dreams now. He responded, ‘What do you mean, Wasim bhai?’ I explained that because I see so much of you on television screens, I just can’t get you out of my mind,” Akram shared during a sports channel interview.

Akram then emphasized the significance of players like Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, and Kohli, highlighting their ability to influence the outcome of matches.

“Virat, Babar, Shaheen, and all these match-winners, they thrive in these moments — India vs. Pakistan. For Pakistan, everyone strives to excel, and vice-versa. This is a make-or-break situation, not for players like Virat Kohli and Babar Azam, but for the young talents. These games are exhilarating. Yesterday, the entire Colombo was abuzz,” Akram added.

It should be noted that the match was called off due to persistent rain spells and will now resume on Monday as a reserve day had been allocated for this high-intensity clash.
