Zardari to visit China from Nov 4 to discuss CPEC phase-two

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari will embark on a four-day visit to China from November 4 to 7 to discuss the phase-two of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The president will also meet Chinese President Xi Jinping and other top officials to discuss matters of mutual importance including Pak-China relations and regional and global issues.

Zardari will also participate in the Shanghai World Expo .

Earlier, Chinese Premier Li Qiang was in Pakistan on a four-day official visit.

Premier Li Qiang also held a meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari, in which both parties reaffirmed their commitment to deepening strategic cooperation in key areas, including the economy, investment, and regional connectivity.

Both sides emphasised the need to accelerate the implementation of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects, with President Zardari highlighting the importance of enhancing connectivity through all-weather roads to strengthen commercial and public ties.
