WEB DESK: Zimbabwe has officially announced its 15-member squad for the upcoming T20 Tri-Nation Series in Pakistan, set to run from November 17 to 29 across Rawalpindi and Lahore.
The team will be captained by Sikandar Raza, with seasoned campaigners Ryan Burl, Wellington Masakadza, and former captain Brendan Taylor providing experience and stability. Fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani misses out due to a back injury, with Newman Nyamhuri drafted in as his replacement.
Sikandar Raza has already won the hearts of Pakistani cricket fans with his all-rounder performance for the Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). He has become a legend for his heart-stopping performances, most memorably smashing the winning runs in the PSL 10 final in 2025, arriving straight from a grueling Test match in England with barely minutes to spare before the toss – pure dedication meeting destiny.
Zimbabwe will kick off their campaign against Pakistan on November 17 at Rawalpindi Stadium, followed by a clash with Sri Lanka on November 19. They return to Rawalpindi on November 23 to face Pakistan again, before taking on Sri Lanka once more on November 25. The tri-series final is scheduled for November 29 at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.
Originally not part of the tournament, Zimbabwe was invited following Afghanistan’s withdrawal, giving the team a valuable chance to test its depth ahead of the next T20 World Cup. Sources indicate the squad will hold training sessions and intra-squad matches upon arrival to adapt to local conditions.
With three competitive cricketing nations ready to clash, the series promises high-intensity T20 action, giving fans in Pakistan the chance to see world-class cricket on home soil.
