Actor Firdous Jamal’s wife files for divorce, confirms son

LAHORE: Renowned actor Firdous Jamal’s wife has filed for divorce after 35 years of marriage, according to their son, Hamza Firdous.

In a video message, Hamza spoke in detail about his mother’s situation and their family’s complex relationships.

He stated, “I want to clarify that my mother has obtained a divorce from my father. No woman desires a divorce after 35 years of marriage.” Hamza explained that his mother endured many hardships in hope of improvement, but things never got better.

Lamenting his father’s negative behaviors, Hamza discussed the challenges his family faced in supporting him during this difficult time.

He mentioned frustration that all members put efforts into including paying for costly treatments for his father’s life-threatening situation.

“It was our duty as sons, but since our father is portraying it as if we did nothing, I need to share these details,” he added.

He mentioned that one brother sent money for treatment, another took care of their father in the hospital, and a sister also provided excellent care, but all efforts seemed futile.

He also pointed out his father’s shortcomings, mentioning several negative habits that caused pain for the family. Hamza shared that he had spoken to his paternal uncles, but they refused to acknowledge their mistakes and instead sided against their own family.

In a recent interview, Firdous Jamal was asked why he felt isolated during his illness and why he lived in a dilapidated house. He responded that after a life filled with noise and chaos, he now seeks peace, which is why he prefers to live alone. He also mentioned that he is currently living in a rented home.
