Directed by Michael Showalter, “The Idea of You” is based on the novel of the same name by actor and author Robinne Lee. It tells the story of Solène (Hathaway), a single 40-year-old mother, who begins a romance with 24-year-old Hayes Campbell (Galitzine), the frontman of hugely popular boy band August Moon after an unexpected encounter at the Coachella music festival.

“She’s really content in her life. She’s fulfilled by her work. She’s an amazing daughter, she loves being a mum, and she has wonderful friends. Love would be nice but it doesn’t feel like something essential is missing in her life,” Hathaway, also a producer on the film, said at the premiere.

“So, she wasn’t expecting what happens next when she falls in love with someone who happens to be probably the most famous pop star in a boyband, in the world.”

Galitzine, who was most recently seen in “Mary & George” as well as “Red, White and Royal Blue”, said of his character: “I feel like it’s a childhood fantasy of any young man to be part of a boyband.
