MANCHESTER: During the widely renowned Parklife festival in Manchester, United Kingdom, security personnel caught a man for possessing a substantial quantity of nitrous oxide.
Nitrous oxide is a colourless gas that is often used as a mild anesthetic in medical procedures. While it can induce feelings of euphoria and relaxation, inhaling too much can pose dangers. One major risk is oxygen deprivation, as nitrous oxide can displace oxygen in the lungs.

Inhaling nitrous oxide in higher quantities can lead to confusion, loss of consciousness, and even suffocation. Long-term use can also cause nerve damage. The gas can also result in frostbite or cold burns if applied directly from canisters.
The local law enforcement department confirmed the arrest of the individual on suspicion of possessing nitrous oxide with the “intent to distribute.” Last year, the classification of nitrous oxide as a “class C drug” in the UK rendered its distribution illegal outside of medicinal purposes.
