CALIFORNIA: Billie Eilish has shared insights into her evolving creative process as she embarks on her third album.

Speaking on Dua Lipa’s ‘At Your Service podcast’, Eilish discussed the significant transition she experienced between the ages of 18 and 21, admitting that she had to reassure herself about her abilities.

Having released her debut album ‘When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?’ in 2019, followed by ‘Happier Than Ever’ in 2021, Eilish is now immersed in crafting her third album alongside her brother and collaborator Finneas. She noted that everything about this project feels different and acknowledged the challenge of embracing change.

Eilish’s creative shift has been marked by moving from her childhood home to working in Finneas’ basement studio for ‘Happier Than Ever’. She said this transition required adaptation and acceptance, especially as her voice transformed and her mental and physical states evolved.

Reflecting on her previous years, Eilish remarked that growing up in the public eye presents unique challenges. She appreciated the fearlessness of her younger self but acknowledged the adjustment that comes with no longer being seen as solely a young artist.

Eilish recently performed ‘What Was I Made For?’ from the Barbie soundtrack at Lollapalooza, and she announced the return of her climate action event, OVERHEATED, in London.
