SEOUL: K-Pop group BLACKPINK’s youngest member Lisa has made history by becoming the first K-Pop star to be inducted into the prestigious Asian Hall of Fame.
According to the international media, Lisa, born as Lalisa Manobal, started with BLACKPINK in 2016 after training for a few years.
Lisa debuted alongside her groupmates Jennie, Rose, and Jisoo. All of the band members had their individual careers before merging into popular girl group.
Meanwhile, amid the disbanding rumors, the group was seen celebrating seventh anniversary, and were in talks with YG Entertainment for their contract renewal.

Over a span of seven years, Lisa’s trajectory has inscribed pivotal moments in history. She is considered as the cultural icon globally and has also served as a global ambassador for several lavish brands, including CELINE, Bulgari, Mac, Adidas, Penshoppe, AIS Thailand, Chivas Regal, and various South Korean cosmetic brands.
As per the Billbaord, the 26-year-old K-Pop idol has received the distinction of being named among the esteemed honourees of the 2023 Asian Hall of Fame.
The media reports said that the distinguished cohort included prominent personalities such as TOKiMONSTA, Ben Fong-Torres, Freddie Mercury, Johnny Cash, Ryuichi Sakamoto, TOKiMONSTA once more, and Far*East Movement.
The Asian Hall of Fame is works for the advancement of Asian and Indigenous leadership accomplishments, encompassing both national and global spheres. With its inception dating back to 2004, the initiative emerged from the efforts of the Robert Chinn Foundation, with a resolute mission to mentor local youth, propagate intercultural content, advocate for legislative causes, and provide crucial support to female visionaries.
Lisa’s induction stands as an acknowledgment of her stature as a global cultural Icon, attributed to her profound contributions to the music domain. The ceremony is all set to be scheduled on October 21 at the Biltmore Hotel, Los Angeles.
