Britain's Got Talent 2024: First semi-final unveils top contenders

WEB DESK: On the first semi-final of the reality competition Britain’s Got Talent, the curtain rose to reveal the initial batch of finalists.

The judging panel oversaw a night filled with diverse acts competing for a coveted spot in the finals. The judges comprise of Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, Bruno Tonioli and Amanda Holden.

Among the eight acts were Sven Smith, The Trickstars, Trey Braine, Sslaubi Performance Troupe, Taryn Charles, Bikoon, Stardust, and Innocent Masuku.

However, only two could progress to the final stage of the competition.

The fortunate finalists were Innocent Masuku whose powerful opera performance carried him through to the finals.

The other was Ssaulabi Performance Troupe that impressed both, the judges and the audience with their martial arts prowess.

Despite putting on a strong show, other acts like The Trickstars found themselves in the top three but failed to secure a spot through public voting. Meanwhile, the judges unanimously selected Ssaulabi Performance Troupe to advance.

However, the competition also witnessed its share of disappointments, with acts like Bikoon! and Sven Smith failing to impress and receiving red buzzers from the judges.

Ssaulabi Performance Troupe will face off against Innocent Masuku in the grand final of Britain’s Got Talent where one act will claim the £250,000 prize. The winner will also earn a coveted spot at the Royal Variety Performance.
