BTS creates history: Jimin wins ‘king of K-pop’ at 2023 Melon Music Awards

WEB DESK: In a groundbreaking achievement, BTS member Jimin secures the King of K-pop title at the upcoming 2023 Melon Music Awards, scheduled for December 2 at the Inspire Arena in Incheon, Yeonjongdo.
According to international media, the 28-year-old singer stands as the first soloist ever to claim this prestigious honour.
Notably, the accomplishment comes just ahead of the mandatory military enlistment for the popular Korean group.

Joining Jimin in the accolades are fellow BTS members Jungkook and V, also known as Taehyung, who respectively clinched the Giant Pop Star and Idol of the Year awards.
The Melon Music Awards unveiled its Top 10 artists on November 17, determined by user voting results, with the entire BTS group and soloist Jungkook making the list.
Jimin’s excellence is further acknowledged with a nomination for Album of the Year, and various other BTS members receive multiple nominations for the coveted MMA.
This year marks the 15th edition of the Melon Music Awards since its inception, underscoring the enduring influence and success of BTS in the global music scene.
