TAIZHOU: Visitors to the Taizhou Zoo in Jiangsu province, China, got more than they bargained when the zoo authorities unleashed a fur-tastic new exhibit that’s got everyone talking – “panda dogs”!
As the enraged visitors realised, these weren’t any ordinary black-and-white pandas. They were dogs – sporting a makeover that’s raising eyebrows across the globe, specifically the “China zoo panda dogs”!

Now, any reasonable person will wonder why would a zoo painted dogs to cosplay as pandas? Well, it turns out the zoo didn’t quite have the credentials to score real pandas. So, the zoo authorities decided to get a bit creative.
Inspired possibly by the fake zebras in Gaza zoo, the Taizhou Zoo officials landed on the brilliant idea of transforming cute, adorable pups into cute, adorable pandas.
Not everyone appreciated the zoo officials’ creativity, though. Angered crowds have descended on the zoo’s door, accusing them of pulling the wool over visitors’ eyes. There are also concerns about the welfare of the canine converts.
Some netizens were worried about the dogs’ delicate skin and fluffy coats, fearing they might not be cut out for the panda life. However, the zoo officials insist that the dyeing process is as harmless as a puppy’s playful bark and compares it to humans dyeing their hair.
Despite the ferocious debate, the panda-dogs have become the main attraction. It has drawn crowds eager to catch a glimpse of these adorable imposters. And who can blame them?
Of course, this isn’t the first time a Chinese zoo has found itself in hot water over its furry residents. Remember the Hangzhou Zoo and those rumours about bears in disguise?

As visitors and the netizens rage at the zoo officials, one thing is for sure: the panda dogs have given the local Chinese zoo a global spotlight. A little creativity can give you Banksy-level global adoration, or it can make global outrage descend upon your furry cages.
