Cillian Murphy pays tribute to Peaky Blinders’ late costume designer

The costume designer who gave Peaky Blinders cast their iconic looks, Stephanie Collie, has passed away at the age of 60, after battling cancer. She died on October 26, six months after her diagnosis. The cast and crew of the super hit show are mourning the loss and pouring in tributes for the recently departed.
The news of Collie’s death was shared by the official Instagram page, along with a statement of praise for the designer. The tragic news was soon followed by a flood of tributes.
The post on Peaky Blinders Instagram page read, ‘’We were so saddened to learn of the passing of costume designer Stephanie Collie. Stephanie’s incredible work in our first series was key to creating the iconic look of the Peaky Blinders, and has gone on to inspire so many people around the world. Our love and thoughts are with her family.”
The show’s lead star and signature brand Cillian Murphy also shared his thoughts. His statement said, “Stephanie was a ferocious talent. She invented the Peaky Blinders look and silhouette that has become iconic across the world. We will all miss her. RIP.”
Collie had an impressive repertoire of artists with whom she worked including the Daniel Craig, Morgan Freeman, Samuel L Jackson, Penélope Cruz and Ryan Reynolds.
Craig wrote about Collie, saying she was a “joy to work with” and she “will be deeply missed.” Jackson also shared a tribute referring to the costume designer as “wonderfully joyous and collaborative part” of his work.
