WEB DESK: The much-anticipated Japanese anime “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle Arc Part 1” debuted in Japan on Friday to rave reception.
Produced by Ufotable, the movie adapts the hugely popular Infinity Castle arc from Koyoharu Gotouge’s mega hit series. It seamlessly continues the narrative established in the anime’s fourth season, known as the Hashira Training arc.

Demon Slayer: The Infinity Castle movie box office performance
The movie made a remarkable entrance at the box office, grossing approximately $13.4 million in its opening day. Major cinema chains showed the anime movie with an extensive schedule of up to 40 screenings. According to reports, over 11 out of 12 screens in a single cinema was dedicated to the movie.
Reception
Critics praised the Infinity Castle Act Part 1 for its stunning animation quality, emotional storytelling, and nail-biting fight sequences.
Viewer feedback was similarly positive. Moviegoers described Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle as extremely emotional and moving. Lavish praise was levied on strong character development and the action sequences.

The movie continues the storyline from the fourth season, delving into the aftermath of the Hashira Training arc. A significant narrative moment occurs with the death of Akaza, a key antagonist. This marks a turning point in the overarching plotline. It also sets the stage for future developments.

Ratings
In Japan, the movie was assigned a PG-12 rating, while it is expected to receive an R rating(!) for the United States, scheduled for September 12 release.
Pakistan release
As an Independence gift, the Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle movie will be released on August 14 in Pakistan.
