Ducky bhai to be presented before court tomorrow

LAHORE: YouTuber Saad ur Rehman, widely known as Ducky Bhai, will be presented before a Lahore district court on Friday after completing his two-day physical remand in a case involving the promotion of gambling applications through online videos.

On Wednesday, the court had granted a two-day remand, rejecting the investigating officer’s request for a five-day remand aimed at recovering electronic devices and access to social media accounts allegedly linked to the case.

The court directed that Ducky Bhai be produced again on September 5.

The YouTuber was detained by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in August at Lahore Airport while reportedly attempting to leave the country. His name had been added to the Provisional National Identification List (PNIL).

Appearing before the court, Ducky Bhai said he was satisfied with the investigation so far, respected the institutions, and had no objection if further inquiries were carried out.

The FIR, lodged by NCCIA under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016 and relevant sections of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), accuses him of promoting gambling and betting apps that allegedly defrauded users of millions of rupees.

The case was registered on August 17 under sections 13 (Electronic Forgery), 14 (Electronic Fraud), 25 (Spamming), and 26 (Spoofing) of PECA, along with sections 294-B (Offering prize in connection with trade) and 420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) of PPC.

This marks the third extension of remand for Ducky Bhai since his arrest.
