LONDON: Singer Ellie Goulding narrowly escaped a potentially disastrous incident during her performance at Victorious Festival in Portsmouth, England, last Sunday. The incident occurred when she got a bit too close to an on-stage pyrotechnic that unexpectedly shot upwards.

A TikTok video posted by user Emilia Hollands captured the moment when Goulding was dancing on stage while singing her March single with Calvin Harris, “Miracle.” A firework shot up and appeared to hit her, causing her to momentarily pause and exclaim, “Ah, f*ck!” However, the incident didn’t deter Goulding, and she continued to sing without missing a beat.

Goulding took to her now-expired Instagram Story to assure fans that she was alright. “To those asking I am ok!” she wrote. “Pyro didn’t hit me directly in the face. Face is intact. Love you thank you x”

The incident brought a new perspective to Goulding’s song “Miracle,” which had previously enjoyed two weeks at No. 1 on the UK’s Official Singles Chart. The singer is set to perform at the Superbloom Festival on Saturday, September 2, and her recent album “Higher Than Heaven,” which was released on April 7, continues to garner attention with tracks like “Easy Lover” featuring Big Sean.
