WEB DESK: Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi addressed statements made by veteran Pakistani actor, Javed Sheikh, regarding their interaction during the filming of the 2008 movie, “Jannat”.
Javed Sheikh recently shared his perspective on a Ramazan television programme, where he characterised the Indian actor’s demeanour as ‘rude’ and ‘dismissive’.

The Pakistani actor recalled an encounter in South Africa, the movie’s shooting location. He stated that when he offered a handshake, Emraan Hashmi responded with indifference and turned away.
Javed Sheikh contrasted Hashmi’s behaviour with that of other prominent Bollywood personalities, such as Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan, whom he felt treated him with greater respect.
He mentioned feeling slighted by Hashmi’s actions and opted for what he referred to as ‘soft revenge’ by refraining from initiating rehearsals, insisting Hashmi approach him instead.
In a recent interview with the Indian Express, Emraan Hashmi responded to Javed Sheikh’s statements. The Indian actor described them as ‘bizarre’ and declared it a potential misunderstanding.
He expressed surprise that the issue had resurfaced nearly 2 decades after the movie’s release.
“I was in my 20s at that time, and he is not my peer, so we were never close. I didn’t socialise with him, but I don’t recall any of the incidents he describes”.
