Fahad Mustafa, Waseem Badami, Shiraz mourn little Umer Shah

WEB DESK: Yesterday Pakistan woke up to heartbreaking news on Monday as child star Umer Shah, the younger brother of Ahmed Shah, passed away. The siblings, much loved for their appearances on Jeeto Pakistan and Shan-e-Ramazan, had become household names over the past few years.
Ahmed confirmed the devastating loss through social media, requesting fans to pray for his brother and their family. Soon after, condolences began pouring in from across the entertainment industry and beyond.
Jeeto Pakistan host Fahad Mustafa, who worked closely with the brothers, said he was “speechless” at the loss, adding that “Umer had left us too soon.”
Another vlogger Shiraz who appeared on Shan-e-Ramzan also shared a heartfelt tribute, from one child to another.
Waseem Badami, who frequently featured the duo on his shows, revealed he had spoken to doctors and family members and confirmed the cause of death. According to him, Umer suffered asphyxiation after vomit entered his respiratory system, which blocked his lungs and led to sudden cardiac arrest in the early hours of Monday.
Other celebrities shared their sorrow. Adnan Siddiqui called Umer a “beam of light, joy and innocence.”
Actor Aijaz Aslam described him as “a little angel who brightened every Jeeto Pakistan episode.”
Shaista Lodhi called the news “shocking,” while Hina Altaf, Mahira Khan, and Momal Sheikh expressed their heartbreak over the young boy’s passing.
Fans, too, flooded social media with tributes. Many remembered Umer’s infectious smile and playful exchanges with Ahmed, who himself rose to fame in 2018 for his adorable catchphrase “peechay to daikho.” Since then, Ahmed has remained one of Pakistan’s most recognisable child stars, often appearing with his younger siblings.
Tragically, this is not the first loss for the Shah family. In November 2023, Ahmed’s baby sister Ayesha also passed away at just one year old, though the cause of her death was not disclosed.
The Shah family hails from Dera Ismail Khan. In one of Ahmed’s recent Instagram posts, he shared a photo of him and Umer in school uniforms, smiling on their way to class, a memory now etched painfully in the hearts of their fans.
For viewers who grew up watching the sibling duo spread joy on television screens, Umer’s absence will leave a void that can never truly be filled.
